The 2024 Nissan Ariya Continues To Impress on Everyman Driver

The 2024 Nissan Ariya is Nissan’s first all-electric crossover SUV, boasting a powerful acceleration and a quiet, smooth operation. It offers an EPA estimated range of up to 304 miles for the Venture+ model, making it suitable for daily commutes and road trips. This model builds on Nissan’s legacy as an EV pioneer, following the success of the Nissan LEAF with nearly 600,000 global sales.

The Ariya showcases a reimagined design philosophy known as “Timeless Japanese Futurism,” emphasizing sleek, sexy, and seamless aesthetics. Its front features a shield with a 3-D traditional Japanese kumiko pattern, housing sensors for driver assistance. The redesigned Nissan logo is prominently displayed at the center. The slim LED headlamps reinvent Nissan’s signature V-motion design.

The vehicle’s side profile exhibits a single, uninterrupted horizon line, conveying linear movement and architectural beauty. The rear sports a steeply raked C-pillar, a one-piece light blade, and rear fender flares, emphasizing its powerful EV capabilities. The Ariya is available in nine trim levels: Engage, Engage e-4orce, Venture+, Engage+ e-4orce, Evolve+, Evolve+ e-4orce, Empower+, Premiere, and Platinum+. E-4orce denotes all-wheel drive, and + signifies models with the extended-range battery.

Inside, the Ariya provides a spacious cabin due to its compact powertrain components, allowing for a flat, open floor and slim-profile Zero Gravity seats. The minimalist instrument panel integrates capacitive haptic switches for climate control functions. The innovative center storage box can serve as a mobile office or picnic table, and the adjustable center console adapts to the driver’s preference.

The Ariya is available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models, with choices of 63 kWh or 87 kWh battery capacity. The all-wheel drive models feature Nissan’s e-4ORCE technology, optimizing power output and braking for stability and control. The battery’s placement ensures a low center of gravity and near-equal weight distribution for exceptional handling.

It offers advanced driver assistance features, including ProPILOT Assist 2.0 for hands-on assistance and ProPILOT Park for automated parking. Standard safety features include Nissan Safety Shield 360. The Ariya also features intelligent personal assistance technology with voice recognition and Amazon Alexa integration.

The Ariya’s connectivity options include wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, as well as SiriusXM with 360L. It boasts a 12.3-inch instrument monitor, a 12.3-inch center display, and one of the largest full-color head-up displays in its segment. The vehicle also offers firmware updates over the air for continuous improvement.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 and Kia EV6 are the Ariya’s closest competitors, and both have faster charging speed. Two other competitors include the Ford Mustang Mach-E and Hyundai IONIQ5.

The Nissan Ariya represents a new era for electric vehicles, combining powerful performance, sleek design, and advanced technology to redefine the driving experience.
