Jeep Scrambler SRT Concept: The V8-Powered Jeep Pickup That Could Change Everything (plus video) on Everyman Driver

Jeep has unveiled one of its most exciting concept vehicles at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas: the Jeep Scrambler SRT. This radical two-door pickup combines a powerful HEMI V8, aggressive off-road styling, and a completely different approach to high-performance Jeep engineering. While the Wrangler and Gladiator have traditionally emphasized rock crawling and rugged trail capability, the Scrambler SRT concept explores something new for the brand: high-speed desert performance.

In a recent video from TFLTruck, the team takes a closer look at the Scrambler SRT and speaks with Jeep leadership about the concept’s design, engineering, and potential future. The vehicle draws inspiration from classic Jeep trucks, including the Kaiser M715, while incorporating modern performance technology. Its distinctive slanted seven-slot grille, muscular bodywork, removable roof, and two-door configuration give it a unique appearance that separates it from today’s Wrangler and Gladiator.

Under the hood sits a 6.4-liter 392 HEMI V8, the same engine family used in the Wrangler Rubicon 392, where it produces 470 horsepower. Although Jeep hasn’t confirmed official horsepower figures for the Scrambler concept, similar output is anticipated. The engine is paired with an automatic transmission, providing the foundation for a truck designed to deliver substantial power across challenging off-road terrain.

Perhaps the biggest engineering departure is the Scrambler’s independent front suspension. Jeep worked with off-road specialists to develop a setup better suited for high-speed desert driving, particularly over rough terrain and repeated bumps. Traditional Jeep enthusiasts may question abandoning the solid front axle, but Jeep’s objective is to explore a different kind of off-road performance without necessarily replacing its existing rock-crawling vehicles.

The concept also features massive 37-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain tires, bronze wheels, FOX suspension components, and a solid rear axle. Combined with its elevated ride height and aggressive stance, the Scrambler looks ready to challenge vehicles such as the Ford Bronco Raptor in the high-performance off-road market. Whether all these components would make it into a production version remains uncertain.

Inside, Jeep has experimented with an unusual seating arrangement inspired by vehicles such as the classic Subaru BRAT. The front features sporty bucket seats, while the rear incorporates removable seats that can face either forward or backward. This modular design allows the rear compartment to function as passenger space or an open cargo area. A built-in side step also makes climbing into the rear easier when the roof is removed.

Despite its production-ready appearance, the Jeep Scrambler SRT remains officially a concept. Jeep has not announced production plans, pricing, or a release date. TFLTruck suggests that a production version could potentially approach six figures, although that figure is speculation rather than confirmed pricing. Additional engineering work would also be necessary to address the unconventional rear seating arrangement and weather protection.

The bigger story is what the Scrambler SRT represents for Jeep’s future. Rather than focusing exclusively on low-speed rock crawling, Jeep is exploring how its SRT performance identity could translate into high-speed off-road driving. A production Scrambler could introduce an entirely new category of Jeep performance vehicle, combining V8 power, pickup versatility, and desert-running capability.

For now, the Scrambler SRT is an exciting preview of what might be possible. Whether Jeep ultimately builds it remains to be seen, but the concept demonstrates that the company is willing to experiment with its most recognizable off-road formula. Watch the TFLTruck video below for a closer look at the Jeep Scrambler SRT concept, including the exclusive discussion with Jeep leadership about its design and engineering.
