2022 Mercedes Benz GLB Review and Specs on Everyman Driver

Priced at a starting MSRP of $40,600, the 2022 Mercedes Benz GLB is a 5-seater SUV that is soon set to revolutionize the streets of America.

The 2022 Mercedes Benz GLB has a 2L Turbo Inline-4 Gas engine that produces a fuel economy of 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. The all-wheel-drive has 8-speed automatic transmission.  The vehicle produces 221 hp at 5,500 rpm and a torque of 258 lb.-ft. at 1,800 rpm. It has a fuel tank capacity of 15.9 gal and produces a combined fuel economy of 26 mpg.

The interiors of the 2022 Mercedes Benz GLB uses Black MB-Tex upholstery with red stitches. The exterior color options include Night Black, Polar White, Denim Blue Metallic, Iridium Silver, and many more.

The infotainment system includes an HD Radio, Bluetooth connection, smart device integration, auxiliary audio input, and MP3 player. In terms of comfort, the 2022 Mercedes Benz GLB has steering wheel audio control, power mirrors, and liftgate, cruise control, keyless entry, power driver and passenger seat, remote engine start, and remote trunk release, amongst many others.

The safety features include a backup camera, blind-spot monitor, ABS, tire pressure monitor, brake assist, stability, and traction control. It also offers front head and side airbags along with knee airbags, and passenger rear head and rear side airbags.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gave the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB an overall safety rating of four out of five stars in FWD models and five out of five stars in AWD models, with five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the frontal crash and rollover tests.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not yet crash tested the 2022 GLB, but it gave the very similar 2021 GLB the highest rating of Good in all six crash tests.

The 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLB is a solid all-around luxury compact SUV. It’s surprisingly spacious, with comfortable seats and plenty of tech features. It offers peppy turbocharged engines and gets good gas mileage while delivering a smooth ride. The GLB is an attractive pick in this class, and its below-average price tag makes it a good value.
