Why Buy the 2024 Lexus NX on Everyman Driver

The Lexus NX continues to impress luxury SUV enthusiasts with its well-rounded features. It offers a smooth and efficient ride with a choice of powertrains, including two hybrid models. The standard hybrid achieves 39 mpg in mixed city and highway driving, while the plug-in hybrid offers 37 miles of electric range.

All NX versions provide a comfortable and quiet ride with minimal road noise. The SUV is loaded with features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, making it a great option for long-distance travel. Despite being slightly smaller than the Lexus RX, it offers generous space for the driver and front passenger. Second-row seating is comfortable for adults, thanks to ample head and knee room. Cargo capacity is competitive within its class.

The recent NX redesign introduced advanced technology, including a 14-inch touchscreen display and sophisticated voice command controls. High-quality cabin materials and meticulous assembly add to its premium feel. The vehicle competes with the Acura RDX, Genesis GV70, and Infiniti QX50.

The base 2024 Lexus NX 250 features a 203-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, while the 350 employs a 275-hp 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The 350h hybrid combines a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with electric motors for a total of 239 hp. The plug-in hybrid NX 450h+ is the most responsive, offering a combined 302 hp.

The Lexus NX provides a luxurious interior with rich leather surfaces in various colors. The seats are supportive and come with heating and ventilation features. Rear-seat passengers enjoy a quiet and composed ride. The SUV offers ample cargo space, and the rear seats can be folded down for even more storage.

The multimedia system includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with a user-friendly touchscreen interface. Voice commands are highly responsive and can be used by both driver and passenger. The optional Mark Levinson audio system provides excellent sound quality.

While the Lexus NX may lack sportiness and its technology interface isn’t the most intuitive, it still ranks as one of the top luxury SUVs in its class due to its smooth ride, comfortable cabin, and high build quality. Despite no significant updates for two consecutive years, it continues to meet the expectations of luxury SUV buyers.
