The Truck Emoji is officially here, brought to you by Ford. The Truck Emoji comes in various colors and models—just like Ford Trucks. The color you get is dependent on which operating system and platform you’re seeing it on.

Just hit iOS 14.2 keyboards today—if you’re not seeing it, give your phone a software update and it will appear when iOS 14.2 is loaded on your iPhone. Can’t wait to see you use it!

The Ford F-150 is one of the most popular pickup trucks, excelling as both a durable work vehicle and a comfortable family cruiser. Its full-size alloy body offers over 40 cab, engine, and drivetrain configurations. A 14th-generation F-150 debuted for 2021. It’s pricier than some rivals, but with class-exclusive options like a full hybrid powertrain, flat-reclining seats, and an onboard generator, the F-150 is as capable as it is comfortable.

Pros

  • More than enough power for hauling and towing
  • Many powertrains and body styles to choose from
  • Roomy, upscale cabin with many standard features
  • Useful driver safety aids, trailering technology

Cons

  • Exclusive options can raise the price fast

Few vehicles on the market offer as many chances for configuration as a Ford F-150, and engines are yet another thing buyers can select. The base 3.3-liter V6 engine makes 290 horsepower, while a 5.0-liter V8 produces 400 horsepower. The 2.7- and 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engines are twin-turbocharged and generate 325 and 400 horsepower, respectively.

An available 3.0-liter Power Stroke V6 engine makes just 250 horsepower but a staggering 500 pound-feet of torque. The most potent and high-tech engine is a 3.5-liter PowerBoost twin-turbocharged hybrid that churns out 430 horsepower and 570 pound-feet of torque. Unlike the mild-hybrid systems released by rivals, Ford’s PowerBoost system is the only full hybrid powertrain in its class. It comes with a 47-horsepower electric motor, the ability to run solely on electricity, and is available on every trim level. A large 1.5-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack fits underneath the truck, with no impact on interior or cargo space.

Drivers can expect to go much farther on one tank of gas with this powertrain than a similarly-sized gas engine, with no impact on towing capacity. All F-150s use a smooth-shifting 10-speed automatic transmission. Both rear- and four-wheel-drive are available. The F-150’s fuel capacity ranges from 23-36 gallons, depending on the body style.

With a full-size alloy body and high-strength steel frame, the F-150 is ready to handle hard work. The six available engines, including a fuel-efficient hybrid that makes 570 pound-feet of torque, deliver excellent power for towing and hauling duties. Ford constructed the spacious, quiet interior from high-quality materials, and upper trim levels feel downright plush. Highly configurable, strong enough for towing heavy loads, and with many innovative features, the redesigned Ford F-150 continues to be a benchmark for the full-size truck segment.
