2022 Genesis G70 Revealed on Everyman Driver

The Genesis G70 came out in 2018 and today the South Korean automaker has revealed the updated 2022 model. Yes, there are some notable changes that are worth your attention.

First, the split design headlights, which are straight from the larger Genesis G80 and GV80 SUV. Genesis calls these ‘Quad Lamps’ and they’ve been spread outward to help create an overall sportier appearance. The large and newly reshaped signature crest grill has also been slightly lowered. Out back, the split styling has been applied to the LED taillights. Beneath them are dual oval exhaust tips and a body-color diffuser.

From the side view, you’ll notice that the twin LED turn signals are gone and have been swapped out in favor of side air extractors. New wheel designs and a slightly curvier trunk round out the exterior changes. A shooting brake/wagon body style is also planned though it’s not expected to come stateside.

Step inside and you’ll find a standard 10.25-inch infotainment screen with a UI design unique to the Genesis brand that also supports over-the-air updates via a Wi-Fi feature. Both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability are standard as well. Wireless charging has been upgraded in order to accommodate larger than ever smartphones. Genesis has already confirmed the G70 will no longer be offered with a manual transmission, leaving the eight-speed automatic as the sole gearbox for both engines.

The 2022 Genesis G70 goes on sale in South Korea next month and will probably hit the US market by early next year. Pricing will be revealed closer to that time.
