2014-acura-ilxWe am proud to be one of the first to introduce to you, the Everyman Driver Nation, the 2014 Acura ILX.  This is a luxury sports sedan entering its second year on the road with a host of new standard features that are sure to impress but a few areas that could still use a few tweaks.  CLICK HERE:  Acura Vehicle Reviews & Video Footage Archive

There are three powertrain choices are available for 2014 ILX.  You have the standard 2-liter inline 4-cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed automatic. That engine will get you 150 HP and 140 lb-ft of torque while fuel economy is 24 city and 35 highway.  Then for a more dynamic driving experience the ILX can be equipped with a close-ratio, six-speed manual transmission matched to a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 201 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque.  Fuel economy numbers drop a bit for the 2.4 liter; it’s closer to 22 in the city and 31 on the highway.  This by the way, is the same engine you’ll find in the 2013 ILX and the 2013 Civic Si, both of which I reviewed in March and April of this year.

The third and final powertrain choice is a hybrid engine.  Early numbers put the fuel economy estimates in the upper 30’s for both city and highway driving with horsepower in the 110 range and torque in the 127 range.
